Normally, I do not put the effort into leaving a review for a business, unless the service and/or food is either amazing and deserves all the praise or is absolutely terrible. Today (12/12/23), I ate dinner here with my sister and experienced service from our waiter that was severely below any acceptable standards. I want to state that I understand when the restaurant is very busy, can cause the server to be pulled in many different directions and spread thin amongst their tables which can cause service to be not the best. Though, tonight was very slow with the restaurant only had a few tables. At first, our waiter was constantly coming over to us to put our order in (felt very rushed) even though we had just been sat at our table and starting looking over the menu (it was our first time dining here) and once we had ordered, we did not see him again. It was not until I was finally able to grab his attention for takeout boxes. He did not check to see if we needed anything once the food runner dropped off our food including how the food was , refills on drinks or extra napkins …..nothing. When he came back with the takeout boxes, he asked if we wanted dessert and I simply said no we do not and I also expressed to him I didn’t really enjoy my meal. Below is a photo of the pizza I got, and how much I took home …….pretty much the whole pizza because I had a few bites of one piece and knew I did not like it. Instead of asking me, if there was anything to rectify the situation or if he could get me something that I may enjoy more, I was handed the check which I then paid and left. Overall, I felt that the food was relatively bland and think that the quality you get does not match the price tag and the service from the waiter we had tonight was extremely lacking. I would not recommend spending your time or money at this establishment.

I absolutely love this place! First time being here and I'll definitely be back! It is very small but super cozy with a lot of character! A girlfriend and I sat at the bar and we both had a dirty martini that was perfectly done. Prices are reasonable and the food was great! We ordered the Roasted Beet salad that I can't wait to go back for, followed by the Pizza D.O.C (which is basically a Margherita pizza) that I also can't wait to go back for! Fresh ingredients, great crust, absolutely delicious! Thank you Disotto for a great night with fantastic food!

I believe I was in Italy🇮🇹 the last time I had this authentic Italian dining experience. As an Italian myself, DISOTTO hit home for me. Parking outside is tight so I recommend taking advantage of the valet service out front! Also, make a reservation ahead of time so that you may be expected! Our server **Gretchen** was phenomenal as well as manager **Nick**! They worked in random to recommend the best bottle of wine with our meal! Well, we went through two bottles haha! It was our first time here and it was a flawless experience! Hot things served hot and cold things served cold! This is a MUST dine-in experience! Highly recommend! We’ll be back!

The waiter was extremely attentive to our table, offering us drinks, appetizers, water, etc. Tonight was a busier night than we’ve seen, and the waiters handled it beautifully. We were never left unattended for long periods of time, we got our food quick, and it tasted delicious. Staff was very friendly and I love their candy basket. Will be coming back!

First time visiting Highwood, IL - we came in for an early dinner on Saturday night. We shared the burrata and pulpo to start. For our mains, I took a break from pastas and went with a grilled pizza; the prosciutto and arugula. Ted chose the orecchiette and Stacey selected the cavatelli. Both pastas were cooked perfectly al dente. The orecchiette in particular was packed with flavour with the lemon, garlic, and fennel sausage.

Beautiful decor- seriously so awesome to look at. The pizza was amazing! The carbonara was boring. I liked the sparkling water with our meal, and they serve warm bread with seasoned olive oil, which was really nice to have as well! Would recommend this place for a nice date night or formal family dinner! Love it- just step up the flavor game on some of the dishes! Editing to add that we have visited this place several times since our initial visit. The food is really great- we got beef tartare and I never thought in a million years I would like something like that, but they definitely changed my mind. Loved it!
